Femme Fatale... Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! I had a marathon Femme Fatale session last weekend. It was my first marathon session and truthfully - I'm addicted. It was an absolute rush. I teamed up with Jessica of Elements Photo. These sessions were a little long, each lady had her own time with each one of us. They were well worth it! There are soo many gorgeous images.

What is a Femme Fatale Session? What I now call Femme Fatale sessions in the past have been called Boudoir, Pin Up or Glamour portraits. These terms seemed a littel dated to me, although calssic terms they don't reflect my style nor my clients. A Femme Fatale session is one where the focus is to capture not only your outer beauty but your inner beauty as well. My approach to these sessions is to talk about those thing which you LOVE, this typically lets that big bright smile shine through or that silent serene expression appear. The outcome is goregous, sexy with a hint of Oh so naughty images.

Why the name Femme Fatale? Throughout time the term has been tied to woman of all sizes, shapes and colors. Femmes Fatales have been viewed as both good and evil. However I always think of the strength, beauty & determination of such women.

The style of imagery varied as each woman is unique & also dependent on comfort level.

And without much more yapping, for now. Here are a few images from such session. OH and I would also like to add these ladies are not Models- but if Tyra's scouting--- she can call me I'll hook her up! ;-)

I will be offering these sessions once a month with limited spaces available, the first session will take place (tentatively) on Sept. 13th. If you are interested send me an email or leave a comment.

As an introduction to these amazing sessions I will be running a contest. The lucky winner (or two) will win a free session. I will be posting contest details soon... stay tuned.

We also had help with Make Up & Hair from Mary of Salon Rouge in Los Gatos & Brianne of Capelli Salon in Los Gatos. They did a fabulous job!! Steve Smith was on hand for lighting support and last but not least John of Dark Side of the Moon was nearby to lend some creative direction . It's awesome to have such talented Friends who are always willing to share their knowledge! But don't worry not every Femme Fatale session will be such a big production. Unless you request it! ;-) Femme Fatale photography packages are custom designed to suit your comfort level.

The weather was cold But it still got a little HOT!

Spunky Bride sessions are so much better when the hubby comes along! The chemistry is there. I know you guys have to act like it's a chore and you don't want to go- BUT seriously look at this. I almost had to put a warning on it!! So come on guys-- You know you want a great reason to turn up the heat in front of the camera!!!
The very talented Joesi did the make up and was on hand to make sure Tina was flawless. A huge THANKS goes out to her. And might I add- Joesi is in high demand- so much so that she hasn't had time to get together a website but you can view her work by following the link to her myspace page. I tell you she's awesome, and super nice as if talent wasn't enough!!
Here's a few from the day- Let me know if you want to pull out your wedding dress and do one of these sessions. These sessions aren't just for newleyweds - all couples are encouraged to turn up the heat in front of the camera!!

This next one is soo Dreamy:

Emilio & Nanette: the Engagement {First installement in the Trilogy}

First I must say- I am sooo excited that I was chosen as their wedding photographer. This is one of the nicest couples I have ever met, and they are really up for anything. Well- Nanette more than Emilio - but after some coaxing even Emilio was frolocking in the (cold) Pacific Ocean. ;-)

California water isn't warm

there's a ton of pictures... I had a really hard time picking just a top 3 or 4 or 5...

The first is a diptych- these two kiddies were absolutely adorable. I can't wait to see them all dressed up- and since they are twin boys- I';m sure that will mean DOUBLE TROUBLE- which will make for some fabulous shots!!

The boys were looking for dolphins or whales... But really there was a better chance of spotting a shark. It felt like a scene from a dream you know the one..where you are standing there on a beach looking for something hoping for just a glimpse...

I leave you with a final image... Not the end but

to be continued....

Melting away...

Some couples you can tell instantly that when they are in each others arms.. everything else fades away and in that moment they exist only for each other.

Class of 2009!! A landmark year deserves a landmark session ;-)

So, here it is! This young lady was so much fun! She was down to try anything. We started off the session in front of Golden Gate bride and we ended at a well known landmark, the SF cable cars on Powell. It was a typically cold SF day- you see we hail from San Jose, CA where 70 degrees in the summer months is called COLD and "natives" pull on pants and a sweater/sweatshirt! However in SF when it's 70 degrees everyone is out in shorts, skirts and sandals. Looking up at the sky saying "it's a gorgeous day today!"

Anyways- back to the topic at hand-- Senior Portraits!

As I mentioned a few days ago, her mom wanted some images to commemorate V's grandfather - he was a San Franciscan. I think the set gives a true SF feel. Check them out- WARNING there are way too many. I had soo many favorites. We even had a special guest appearance.. You'll see.

One day Senior year will be nothing more than a memory , Kinda like this:

fuzzy ...like a far away dream

However currently it's like this:
Bright and Exciting!

I would like to thank V's parents for calling on me to shoot her senior portraits. I should also mention her dad was her chauffeur, bodyguard and PURSE HOLDER. He was patient beyond words- and without him realizing it- I snuck him into a photo. Thanks

Coming soon... Nanette & Emilio

As a major teaser here are some images from a super fun engagment session at a Gorgeous location- which many of you will know, and mostly everyone will recognize the red landmark in the background. ;-)

I come from a film background, in fact I still own many film cameras. One being a "newer" polaroid. I like to mix old school with new school- I'm that kind of girl. Hey What can I say?!

These next images are scanned in polaroids. The colors are true to what developed on this magical format. -I'm such a  nerd sometimes, please excuse me

I am so excited about shooting this wedding... maybe as excited as the couple - is to get married that is.

OK ..ok...
here you go

Couple in a heart in the sand by the big red bridge
She says she will hire me to take pictures more often - so i can command him to Kiss her, and to hold it until I say stop.
Wondering if California is going to split off and fall in to the ocean--
